March Maddness!

I'm reminded each March how much I love and miss basketball. It's such a great sport. It makes me wish I was still in high school and running plays. I remember how exciting it was in 6th grade when Santa brought a basketball goal for Christmas!! I was so excited. My Dad put it up on our drive way and I loved playing horse and just shooting around. There was a little section of our drive way that was actually paved. The rest of it was gravel out to the road. We lived in the country so a gravel driveway was typical. The worst part about playing ball out there was if the ball bounced to the left after a missed shot. You would dash to try to catch it before it went on the gravel. If you were lucky...you caught it. If you weren't so lucky and happened to be barefoot...well you would do the painful run on the sharp gravel to get the ball. The bottom of my feet were so thick back then.

As an adult I have tried to walk on the gravel out to get the mail at my parents while visiting and I just can't do it. It's like little nails poking and slicing as I walk. Anywho, best of luck to those with brackets. So far I'm doing ok, but 1 bad game could take me down. It's Maddness I tell you.
